Case 2: Tour Operator
Payment challenges
Physical business with ECommerce showcase, transaction amounts are greater than 1K EUR, between 3 and 10K in general.
In France this type of merchant always accepts checks, with significant risks of unpaid checks, generally to offer payment in several installments.
Payments are also made via POS with the associated card limits, and sometimes by manual SEPA bank transfer with manual reconciliations. In general, on-site customers always pay, if their card is refused, by SEPA bank transfer so there are no real problems of loss of customers on declined card.
Merchants sometimes have a web version of the static catalog without online ordering.
YowPay integration
Our client, local tour operator in the Bouches du Rhones province, specialized in extreme adventure group trips with 2 offices and 15 employees.
Sales people were accepting checks and POS payments. YowPay has been integrated as follows:
In the online invoice generation system by email so that payments are traced and automatically reconciled, bypassing manual processing of bank statements by the accounting department. Thus, payment in several installments has been implemented by sending several payment notices.
Sales people also use the YowPay mobile application to replace POS card payments.
Total removal of the check.
An improvement to the static ECommerce showcase was made by adding the free WOOCommerce solution, with the YowPay module provided for this purpose. Customers can therefore order trips online and pay by SEPA instant transfer.
The results
Within 6 months, the web version generated 20% more volume than physical sales, therefore more customers who would not have purchased in person or over the phone, all with YowPay without a %.
In store, sales people direct customers to generate an invoice sent by email integrating SEPA payment via YowPay or via immediate instant SEPA payment using the YowPay mobile application.
Some savings on % POS cards, more than 50% of card volumes transferred to SEPA instant transfers.
The biggest saving was accounting management with automatic reconciliations of incoming transfers and management of checks, bank deposits, unpaid bills, saving 2,000 EUR per month, therefore total for the year of 24,000 EUR.
“The implementation of the Yowpay solution on site was almost instantaneous, with salespeople's mobile phones directly replacing physical POS terminals. A small integration into our online billing system had to be carried out with the available Yowpay teams. I am very happy with the result, a nice saving of 30K per year which is important for an SME like us, we will be able to invest in promotion and generate more turnover in 2024.”
